Let’s Bring Scary Back!

The annual Halloween Party fundraiser is coming fast and we want to make it bigger and better than ever by bringing back old favorites and adding new things: Scavenger Hunt, Haunted House, Face Painting, Magician, Music, Games, Giving Contest, Pumpkin Decorating Contest, Coolest and Cutest Costume Contest, Spooktacular Shoppe and Concession Stand.

In order to make this happen, we need people to donate funds to cover the expenses and make this fun for the kids and a successful fundraising event for Loudon Food Pantry.

Canterbury’s Annual Hunger Sucks, Food Rocks Walk/Ride

On Saturday, September 23rd at 10:00 am, the CUCC’s Outreach Committee will be sponsoring the annual walk/bike ride to benefit the Loudon Food Pantry. Again, this will be in place of the annual CROP Walk and will ensure that Loudon Food Pantry receives 100% of the donations. The 5k walk/ride will start in front of the Canterbury Church and end at the Parish House where there will be refreshments served by the Canterbury Benevolent Society. Children under the age of 10 need to be accompanied by an adult.

Please contact LeAnne Fifield 934-2075 or Sonette van der Merwe 540-9325 for forms to walk/ride, find a walker/rider to sponsor not listed here or to make donations.

Loudon Old Home Day

We had a booth at Loudon Old Home Day and had a blast!  Donations of food and produce was dropped off.  We spoke to many people about what we do, who we feed and how we feed those in need.  They were happy that we allow people to self shop and they could come each week to shop.

Everyone seemed to be having a great time.  We’ll be back next year!

In with the New, Out with the Old

The New Hampshire Food Bank emailed about 30 days ago.  They said they got a grant for some new refrigerators and would we like one.  I said heck, yes, please!  It was just delivered on Tuesday and WOW!  We quickly removed the old refrigerator and created room for the new one.  It was completely full in the matter of minutes.  Thanks NH Food Bank and thank you to the donor that gave you the grant!

Loudon Old Home Day is Coming

Loudon Old Home Day is this Saturday and we’ll have a booth set up.  We always have a great time at this event and don’t expect this year to be any different.  At our booth you’ll find information about the food pantry, items that we sell to support the food pantry as well.  This year we are also including a table showing food we give out to a household size of 1 and a household size of 5.  So drop by our booth and see what we give out for food on a weekly basis.  Hope to see you there!

Canterbury Fair

We were at the Canterbury Fair on Saturday. Great day! Not too warm and the sun was peeking in and out. Everyone looked like they were having a great time. Sarah and I met new people and enjoyed spending time with friends as well! We did not receive too many donations but gave out a lot of information that will help those in need.
