LFP Challenge Update

Lately we’ve had visitors come to LFP for a tour and they’ve noticed the amount of food we have on hand.  We explain to them that it may seem like a a lot of food but some of the cases they see are all of the same item (i.e. 20 cases of green beans) and our stock is in constant flux.

To give you an example.  Last week we serviced 43 households of varying sizes (1 – 9 members per).  It was a lower week than usual.  But in that week we gave out 2,041 pounds of food which will be used to create 1,701 meals.

Most of the food from the Gift of Lights has been given out.  So, now we need to rely on The LFP Challenge to help restock our food stores and monies until donations start to increase again (usually around October).

As of today, we still need $2,490.54 in food or funds to reach our goal of $10,000 on or by April 30th.  We need your help to to do this!  We only have one week left!  So, please spread the word and/or make a donation yourself.

Your donations are counted towards the challenge like this:

  • Donate In-Date Food (It will be counted as $1.00 per item towards our goal)
  • Donate In-Date Meat or Produce (It will be counted as $1.00 per pound towards our goal)
  • Donate Funds (It will be counted dollar for dollar)

You must let us know that you want your donation used for  The LFP Challenge.
