LFP Challenge to Fight Hunger

The holiday season is a financially difficult time for many low-income families and they struggle to put food on the table, but many people don’t realize that these same families visit food pantries and soup kitchens year-round.  As a result, many food pantries and soup kitchens receive most of their donations during the last two months of the year, use up most of it during those months and then need to stretch those resources through the upcoming ten months in order to make sure that people remain fed throughout the year.

In an effort to combat this issue, Loudon Food Pantry created the LFP Challenge to Fight Hunger.  Each year, we strive to raise enough resources to keep people well-fed and on their way to finance self-sufficiency during a time when we receive far less to with which to do it.

To be part of this effort…

  • Donate In-date Food – Each item will be counted as $1.00. (5 cans = $5.00)
Donate In-date Meat / Produce – Each pound will be counted as a $1.00 (4 pounds of carrots = $4.00)
    Donate funds – Each $1.00 will be counted as a $1.00 ($5.00 = $5.00)

You must note that your donations is for the LFP Challenge (LFPC) if you want it included or just let us know when you drop it off.  Everything from our donation sites will be automatically included in the LFP Challenge. All food and funds stay within Loudon Food Pantry.
